This monument, obviously not used anymore to transport water, split the city if Segovia in two parts. The term aqueduct comes from the Latin <em><span lang="la" xml:lang="la">aqua</span></em> (&#8220;water&#8221;) and <em><span lang="la" xml:lang="la">ducere</span></em> (&#8220;to lead&#8221;). That&#8217;s why thery are comon bad spellings like <em>aquaduct</em> and<em> aquadect</em>.</p>
